Well, I went here and visited last week. I’ve been there before, but this was the first time since I decided that someday I would preach there. The place really isn’t my style in terms of churches, but it does have it’s own loveliness. Though I visited during the week, the alter area was closed so I couldn’t get a great view from the chancelor area. It does have a “preacher crusher” which is a large ornamental piece hanging right over the pulpit. The one in Riverside looks like a bishop’s hat.
My dad built me a dollhouse when I was seven – that was 28 years ago. I played with the dollhouse a lot as I was growing up and had enough furniture for all the rooms. Somewhere along the line the furniture was lost but about six years ago I re-aquired the house from my dad’s attic.
My seven year old daughter has been playing with the house, though there is no furniture in it. She puts her lil’ Brat dolls in it and what not.
Yesterday I saw it sitting there, looking so empty and worn and I thought it would be so fun to fix it up. It was never painted and never really “dolled” up the way it could have been.
I sure don’t have time for a project like this, but it could be fun.
