I’m from the country above it and live in the country below it. I have criss-crossed it, circled it and polka-dotted it. I have been to every state except Alaska (although admittedly, in a few cases I only stopped the car long enough to kiss the ground and wink at the boys) and I’m dying to get up there! From the arid depths of Death Valley to the summit of Kauai’i’s Wai’ale’ale, the wettest place on earth, I can say for sure that the US is one spectacular, beautiful, varied, surprising, wild and wonderful country.
