I stumbled upon this site and I think it’s an amazing idea!
Check it out:
“Kiva.org allows anyone with at least $25 dollars to spare to provide a loan to an entrepreneur in the developing world. These entrepreneurs are pre-screened by organizations in the developing country, which means that the recipients of the loans are known to be hard-working, honest people who need (what seems to us) a little extra money to improve their business”

I am going to try and make the effort to stop wasting money on things that I don’t need, and instead try to put that money into a savings bank. At least until I have gotten rid of enough stuff in my house to make a difference.
I think I may have a “Compulsive Shopping Bug”, I see pretty stuff that I can afford and automatically have to buy it!! I know I could use the money for better things, but at the moment my mind just goes blank and all I know is that I can afford it, I want it, I have to get it! Even if later on I regret it or admit that I really didn’t need it.
It goes the same for my kids, they have PLENTY of toys, clothes and stuff and yet I continue to get stuff for them!! At times I feel like a hamster, I gather, gather, gather, and then fill up my house for “a rainy day”. I buy them clothes that are a bit large because they were on sale and eventually they will fit into them! But as it is, they can’t fit one pin into their closet!
I got to stop!! Specially after reading this:

I just discovered couchsurfing and I am very excited!! I am looking forward to travel and meet others and to be able to host those traveling through my city!
Right now all I can offer is being a guide and coffee or tea, but I will work towards hosting someone from http://www.couchsurfing.com !!
If you are not familiar with couchsurfing, here is a little info:
“CouchSurfing seeks to internationally network people and places, create educational exchanges, raise collective consciousness, spread tolerance, and facilitate cultural understanding.”
As a community we strive to do our individual and collective parts to make the world a better place, and we believe that the surfing of couches is a means to accomplish this goal. CouchSurfing isn’t about the furniture- it’s not just about finding free accommodations around the world- it’s about participating in creating a better world. We strive to make a better world by opening our homes, our hearts, and our lives. We open our minds and welcome the knowledge that cultural exchange makes available. We create deep and meaningful connections that cross oceans, continents and cultures. CouchSurfing wants to change not only the way we travel, but how we relate to the world!
