Well, I did it. I leave April 16th, 2008 for Botswana. District AIDS Coordinator. I’ll be 58 years old when I leave and 60 when I return. Can’t think of anything better to do.

How I did it: I travel alot. In the past five years I've visited almost 50 countries. But, I always felt as though I was just "tasting" them instead of really sinking my teeth in. Some still with the tags on, some in plastic from the dry cleaners. If you haven’t worn it in 10 months out it goes. It feels so good!
I was on a camping/kayaking tour with Spirit of the West out of Quadra Island, British Columbia. We were on the Johnstone Strait. This group of Orcas was nearing our group as we sat out on the water. This fella apparently wasn’t aware how close we were because he broke water right under my paddle. If you look closely at the foam and just to the left of my paddle handle, under the water you can make out the black and white of his body. It was a thrill.
