I’ve been in Nebraska for about 9 months so far and we haven’t really tried many of the non-chain restaurants. My boss recommended Mazatlan a few weeks ago and last night we got take-out! It was really delicious and the authentic Mexican food was really satisfying. When my in-laws come visit next month, it’s a definite option. Mazatlan reminded me a lot of Banditos Mexican Cafe, one of our favorite restaurants in Chapel Hill, NC.
I’m excited to try more local restaurants in the future. At the same time, we’re trying to be thrifty with our money so we probably won’t try more than 1 or 2 new restaurants a month.

As I was reading through the entries for other people learning CPR, I read about people who spoke to HR and were reimbursed.
I work for the State Government and I know they have all sorts of classes and employee training. Next week I plan to look through their directory of classes. If CPR isn’t offered, I’ll go talk to my HR representative about possible reimbursements.

I found CPR classes in my city! If I have to I’ll go on my own, but it would be more fun to learn CPR with someone I know. My husband Jonathan isn’t interested in taking CPR classes with me, but maybe I can convince my friend at work to go with me.
Through my work, I talk with a lot of people who are CPR certified and it seems like a really useful skill to have. Plus, we have an AED machine on every floor. I think learning CPR would make me feel more prepared in case of an emergency, and make me feel more capable. I like to be prepared for all possibilities and I like the idea of being able to help my family and friends if necessary, and random strangers of course.
