Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Tracking My Money Again

This Financial Independence thing isn’t going to happen overnight is it? :)

I posted my monthly spending for July and I’m staying current with tracking my money this month. I need to get serious about getting that passive income stream rolling in.

Early Morning is better than late night

The first time I went out streching/working out was late night and I haven’t been out again since. That was like 4 days ago. My new plan will be to strech early. Streching late will be the backup plan.

I think I’ll go out now…

2 Sets of 50 today

I took a day off yesterday. A friend said that it’d be good to do sets that are close to my max instead of just maxing out every time. Did 2 sets of 50 today.

He told me this after I said I was gonig to do like 200 in sets of 20. He said this way is better. I took a 5 minute break in between.

Get rid of my junk
Let's Get This Finished

I started getting rid of my junk back in August by piling it all up in my living room. Now it’s back in it’s junk room (and sorted though.) I think it’s time to get rid of that junk!

A Good Day to Start This One...

I plan on cleaning up my computer room today and keeping it that way. Things are messing now, but, they’re pretty organized. If I keep things in order for 2 months straight, I think that will be mission accomplished.

Starting Again After 3 Years...

It was more than 3 years ago that I declared on my personal web forum that I was going to do the splits. I’m going to do it again here on 43Things. Today I’ll start with light streching after warming up. I’ll also read through the splits FAQ that can be found here: Streching FAQ

65 Today

Did them again this morning and hit 65. I’m surprised I wasn’t more sore from yesterday. I’m usually really sore from pushups (after not doing them for a long time.) I was only a little sore.

I think I’ll do smaller sets tomorrow.

I Started a Blog a Week Ago

The blog I started is a little cheesy right now, but that’s here (www.fi-blog.com)

It was about 1 year ago that I got my hands on a book called “Your Money or Your Life.” It took me about a year to “master” the first 3 steps (the hardest being keeping track of what you spend on a daily basis.) I posted the results from August on my personal blog. I’ll get semptember on the FI-Blog real soon (hopefully tomorrow.)

First Day!

I haven’t done pushups in a long time :P

Just busted out 60 consecutive pushups. I might try again later today, but maybe in smaller sets of 10 ir 20. I’ve gone for this goal before, but always get stuck at about 80. NOT THIS TIME!
