go to sleep and wake up earlier
Early to bed and early to rise .... 4 years ago

Well, I don’t know how wise this will make me but I just started this semester at a new university that is several miles away and must get up before 6:00 AM !!! Mind you, that’s still very much the “wee hours” for me. Only with the help of God and a sweet guy who brings my coffee to the bedside am I able to accomplish this task.

Whatever possessed me to sign up for an 8:00 AM class is beyond my ability to comprehend. Okay, so that was the only time a particular class was offered, even so, there are many others to choose from, Ceramics or Algebra (heaven forbid) for instance.

And, there is nothing quite like the adrenaline pumping in your veins during rush hour traffic! Why do they see fit to do road construction, closing all traffic lanes but one when three lanes of traffic are attempting to pass? And, why, when there are more lanes open, do the slowest drivers gravitate toward the left and hold up all others who (unlike themselves, it appears) have some place to go??? Anyone for an autobaun? I’m game!!! Give me something fast, red, convertible, and I’m outta here.

Getting to bed earlier isn’t going as well as getting up earlier though and sleep deprivation is not my choice of tortures. Sometimes I’m able to sneak in a nap but I don’t think you ever fully make up for lost sleep. One day I’ll be old and have plenty of time to sleep. Maybe I won’t make up for what I have lost but, for now, I’m having a great time while awake!!!

Fresh Herbs Are Great For Cooking 4 years ago

Okay, I really don’t cook much but herbs are great in salads and dips and I DO cook in the microwave sometimes (I know, that’s nuking). I truly enjoyed my little herb garden. I have frozen some herbs to be used later and plan to dry some also. It really has been fun even if I did kill a couple of plants.

How my herb garden grows. 4 years ago

Although I live alone and rarely cook just for myself I wanted to grow herbs. It seemed silly and a waste of time until a friend told me it wasn’t, because I enjoy my little garden and that’s the most important thing. I have dill, chives, basil, parsley, lemon balm, thyme, cilantro, rosemary and lavender. At first they weren’t getting enough water because they are in pots but now they seem to be thriving. I have used a few in cooking but if I were to never use them I have gained great enjoyment from my little garden.
