Saying i’m sorry cannot come with strings or expectations.
You will discover while saying these words and expressing the need to say them and when you do cross that road, there you will find your answer.
but at least in all respects: you said ‘i’m sorry’.
that’s what matters.

someone said I was beautiful was my last boyfriend during our torrid breakup…
he said: “even when your crying your are beautiful”
i would like to {make}believe that was the only momment he found clarity through his web of lies.

but this time I know what it honestly means and I will never have the chance to tell him.
Sorry does not need reciprocated, validated, or authenticated by the other person. It’s your words, your meaning. I used to say it all the time, and it was either a weapon or just empty.
I guess it’s the bittersweet lesson I have come to understand.
‘I am sorry for everything that led us to become strangers today and I say this with a heavy heart’
