Last weigh in I weighed 193, and this weigh in I am down to 179.5! I had not weighed myself in almost 2 months, because I was afraid of not making progress. All I have been doing is running.
I run 3 times a week for an hour, and then I lift twice a week along with cardio. I also take exercise classes as much as possible.
On top of that, I feel stronger and more fit than I have in a long time. I have even been able to get into the crow pose in my yoga practice, something I haven’t done since I was 14 years old.
There’s just nothing I can’t do. And there’s only more progress ahead.
Good luck to everybody else who’s also out there doing it. :-)

So I did this just a year ago. At the time I was on 4 different meds, I believe it was 2 anti-depressants and 2 anti-psychotics. My doc refused to help me, as I’m sure is the case with some of you, so I stopped taking them myself.
Believe me, you need to brace yourselves. There are downsides. The first month is going to be horrible. Don’t be around anyone who hasn’t seen you really, really angry or depressed before. Also, be prepared to not be able to work or go to school much. You might want to get at least the first week off of whatever you have going. Don’t drive if you are coming off of a large dose or off of a lot of different meds. The “brain jiggles” will be annoying.
In addition, get ready to actually deal with your depression rather than walking through it like a zombie. I just had a depressive episode this morning with a panic attack to go with it. You’ll find that they are intense, but for me they are more managable.
BUT…
Once you’ve done this, you will be a normal person again. Your hand eye coordination is going to come back. You will have better memory. You will be able to have sex and feel something. Etcetera etcetera. If you’ve been on meds for a long time, you may be really surprised at some of the things you start being able to do again.
It won’t be easy, but you can do it. Believe me, if I did it, it can’t be that bad. lol Ya’ll contact me if you need help.

I am a writer, artist and musician, but lately with full time school and work it has become an exercise in futility. I want to bring creativity back into my life.
Good luck, all!
