This was a pretty good book on how to love the people around you. Chapman not only talks about romantic relationships, but also how you interact with roommates or siblings. The five love langugages are really universal and can help you in both personal and professional relationships. A love language is what actions help you to feel loved, not just know you are loved. I discovered my own personal love language and those of many of the important people around me. I’ve already started to put that knowledge to use in how I interact with them.

How I did it: It really didn't have to take me 4 months to do this...I actually put the plan together in probably less than an hour, but I procrastination makes things take longer :)I got the inspiration to sit down and work it out so I went with it. Opened up a word document and starting clarifying what I was trying to do this year. I stayed at it until I finished. Read how I did it…
Wow it has been nearly a year since I wrote anything here. Establishing my morning devotional is still important to me. Over this time I have learned that in order to do something like this especially if you are not naturally an early riser, you got to really want it. You have to be disciplined to roll out of bed even when your bed is warm and comfortable, even when you wake up and wish you could just have 15 more minutes. That 15 minutes turns into 30 turns into an hour and before you know it you’re out of time. I have noticed I can flow naturally into a devotional after I work out, but my workout is usually in the evening and there is nothing wrong with doing it in the evening, but I would really like to start my day off with God. So, I gotta get disciplined. I gotta get serious because it’s important and no doubt the time spent will be a reward in and of itself.
An interesting book about how the smallest of changes have the potential to create the next epidemic or fashion trend. I particularly enjoyed the examples given for example how Blue’s Clues became such a hit with kids, how a soaring crime rate in NYC was started and how it dropped dramatically. Who would have thought that the very act of controlling vandalism would curb overall crime in a subway system…However, I didn’t find a lot of applicable material in the book, like how do you identify the small changes that could become tipping points.
