How I did it
How I did it: I approached my manager and asked her if I was going to receive a pay raise associated with my promotion due to all the additional responsibilities I had assumed, and then provided examples, which included opening and closing her store when she couldn't, driving to other locations for supplies, supervising a staff of 5 other employees, etc, etc. I was told "the company does not invest in raises for just anyone," among other things. I finally told some bad friends that they were in fact bad friends and I didn’t want them in my life anymore instead of continuing to let them walk all over me. I feel good about it.
