Since going on holiday, we have reconnected so it has been much easier to get along. The stresses of life and living in a big city often get in the way. My boyfriend is often grumpy, due to lack of sleep because of work and other commitments. On holiday this all changed and I was able to see the ‘old’ charlie again.wey hey.. I’m in love
My boyfriend, daughter and I went to Sicily for 5 days. We had an absolutely amazing time. We have grown closer and totally bonded as a family again. The sun shone for us everyday despite forecasts of showers. Aparrently Cefalu, the medieval town we visited is protedted by valleys so it more often than not excapes the rain that is forecast for the larger region. I completely reccommend Cefalu, lovely town in 2 parts, the new and the old. We stayed in the old town in a self catering apartment with views of the sea and on the other side lovely cobbled streets, with washing lines criss-crossing overhead .
The food was superb, although my appetite was never big enough to have all 3 courses on the menus. antipasti ,primiri, secondi. I could only manage the first to. The first meal we had out I did attempt it but thought I’d explode if I tried any more. I must say that the secondi options are not a patch on the first two courses in flavour and presentation.
The sea was perfect for us, shallow, tranquil, clear-clear water with rippling waves, we felt very comfortable that our 2 and a half year old daughter was safe, the short sandy beach was never busy. We couldn’t have asked for more. The local Sicilians went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Amelie even made a new friend called Kiara Sofia, they got on like a house on fire. Despite the language barrier we arranged with her mum that they will keep in touch by drawing pictures and sending photos.
Spectacular holiday, you MUST go.
