Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

smoke joint

A friend said she received some stuff for a favour and she new i wanted to try it. So we meeted at her place and did it. First joint had no effect since i don’t smoke and it’s hard to inhale the smoke to lungs. Second one i did my best and inhaled slowly with lots of air and keeped the smoke in my lungs. Effect was on the verge of throwing up. At the same time i totally sensed like i was dreaming and could not seperate reality and my thoughts (dreaming). Interesting effect. Although because i like control it was hard to fight this feeling and see the reality.

Deciding and finding a flat

Decision was made. Freedom of being on your own and having room for yourself became greater than living at home – where you have company, someone taking care of laundry and food and all the expenses. So on a less busy month of april I checked 5 apartments and 5th was a nice deal. Not to expensive, nicely equiped. Although with some small problems like ants, dripping toilet pipe and not fully functional window blinds. But it should not be much of a hassle. So now I have the keys and I am slowly moving. This was a bit shock for my parents despite that I mentioned it a few months earlier and was also notifying them of what apartments I was checking. Keeping them informed was a good idea though as they were getting at least a little accustomed to the idea of me moving out.

make more conscious decisions

Decisions are what define our lives. So I think it is really important to make more decisions and not just go with the flow. Even if decisions turn out not to be so wise they are still a new experience.
