This has been quite a challenge since taking young Charlie the laborador along. Me and Ned (my beautiful Brittany) had an understanding and it was a time for reflection in the early morning. Not any more. Tangle, bumble, bump and scramble. Maybe things will settle down in a couple of years!

How I did it: Didn't do it. Too busy working, looking after kids and man and house and pets. I don't know how to put myself first. I'm not giving up though! More exercise and mindful eating...I'll get there eventually. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I managed to do this through getting a traveling fellowship to London for 2 weeks. I got the Eurostar to Paris, and spent the weekend with my sister and her family in Grandchamps. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Did it for a year, but decided the costs were too high. The women's only option was nice but you pay a premium for it. It wasn't sustainable for me/my family. Read how I did it…

Well, I camped a lot when I was younger but not since having 2 kids. So, with partner and kids in tow, I went camping for 3 nights. One hour either side of getting to the camp site, partner lost wallet and broke main tent pole, so we got off to a wobbly start. Still, the tent was up by dark and the temporary repair to the pole held. The wallet was retrieved, but not until after the police cancelled the cards…so no money for another week…hmm one goal leads to another…budgetting in earnest. On balance it was worth it. It was beautiful in the mountains, and really refreshing to focus on the here and now of immediate needs…the next meal, sleep, warmth. A big bold possum ate our bread, last bananas and marshmallows, but not until the last night, so we were happy to share. A black snake crossed my path when I was walking in the bush alone and that was psychologically challenging, and put me on edge for a while. I’m not planning our next adventure just yet, but there will be one!
I love the whole farmers market idea. The dilemma is making multiple shopping trips, as opposed to the one stop supermarket, is costly in terms of time. The first step is to just do it and see what’s possible. So, before Feb. is the goal.
