I try to go to Mackinac Island every year. Doesnt matter how many times I have wandered the flower and tree lined streets, I am always up to do it again. One of my favorite things to do on the island is to just sit and people watch. Since there are no cars allowed the peace and quiet is only disturbed by the sounds of horses hooves, and the swishing of bike tires. People seem to respect the step back in time you take when visiting, last time I was on the island I only saw 2 people using a cell phone. This is something I noticed because I hate cell phones lol Dont forget to visit the Haunted Theater and see if you can get passed the chicken door, then make sure to get a few slabs of fudge to keep your energy up.

There are a lot of great things to do in the Soo, go gambling at the casino, visit the Tower of History. The Haunted Depot is pretty funand so is Museum Ship Valley Camp. What ever you do though, dont waste time or money taking the Soo Locks tour. I love to spend time on a boat so I took the tour only for that reason, well….you spend most the time just sitting there waiting while the water rises and lowers you, yeee haw. Take time to visit the park and museum at the locks and watch the boats go from on to the other lock. Its free and you cant beat something free, just be prepaired to be searched going into the park. If you want somplace fantastic to eat, that would be Abners Restaurant, as far as I am conserned the ONLY place to eat in the Soo. Great buffet and all there stuff is made from scratch, no instant mashed potatoes there, a lot of it is also cooked on a wood stove right there behind the buffet, you can watch them pulling food from it.
