Went there for school – never made enough money to leave. It took a catastrophe coinciding with a miracle to get me out – but I’m where I’ve always wanted to be, just a few hundred miles north, with the man I love. Whatta difference. :)

How I did it: The first couple of years were bumpy. Soon after I bought the car, I lost my job. The economy was beginning to get bad, and long story short, I had to move in with a friend for awhile. I was able to get odd jobs and some temp assignments, and with few exceptions and some assistance from my mom, began to make the payments on time again. How I did it: I thought I would have to wait until after I paid my car off (great big payments!) to begin saving up for an upright grand, but my grandmother gave me some money this year, and I realized that if I bought a portable 88-weighted-key keyboard, I would have exactly what I wanted!
