I feel like everything is about being the same. I know that when I was younger I always wanted to be average, I wanted to be like everyone else, not different. I’m really not that different from other people but for me this goes to the way I think.
I always feel like we’re told there is a right and a wrong way to do things. In school we learn there is a right and wrong answer, in our job there is only one way to do things. I just feel like its when we break out of this that we make a difference. I feel like its when we only see black and white ways of seeing things that we don’t truly understand the world. If everything only had one right answer it would be like looking at a rainbow and only seeing red…or whatever color. To be different is to be special, to be different is what makes a difference, to be different is what makes life worth living.

This is a really hard goal for me because I want to make a positive impact but I don’t know how to declare that I have made a difference. I really want to help people and do something that changes lives but I feel like the little things I’ve done so far haven’t been enough. I’ve volunteered and been a member of the Big Brother Big Sisters progrom and I know how much those kind of things help. However, I guess I will not be satisfied with this goal until I have done something that I can see the impact on the entire world.
Well for me doing something actually has a lot of options. I think anything that makes some sort of history would apply, so it could be maybe just the first American person to do something. It could mean do something faster or better than anyone else has ever done before. Theres even a ton of things that no-one has ever done. One of my ideas that I’m not sure if it has been accomplished is to be the first person to go to the highest and lowest known points on earth, now granted someone has done each but I don’t know that anyone has done both. But anyway just finding something new to do is half the fun with this goal!
