I’ve been reading a few raw food cookbooks and blogs to learn more about the techniques and tools necessary to be a successful raw foodist. I read that a good way to start transitioning to a raw food diet by making one meal of your day a raw food meal. I’ve been successful with most of my breakfasts and a few lunches in the last few weeks. I’m ultimately trying to move up to 2 meals a day and eventually every meal but it’s hard with 2 small children who have no interest in a raw food diet. I’ve been sprouting, juicing and dehydrating foods to make raw food recipes and it’s been so educational to learn about a whole new level of eating. I definitely notice a difference in my energy level when I eat raw foods and I feel better eating more fresh fruits and vegetables.

How I did it: I work 3 blocks away from my dentist and every time I drove by I would tell myself that I needed to make an appointment. I don't know how many times I must have repeated that pattern before I finally called. It was one of those things on the bottom of my to-do list, I suppose. When I arrived, they told me that I hadn't been in 3 years -- which honestly came as a surprise to me because it hadn't felt that long. When I arrived, they immedia… Read how I did it…
How I did it: For a couple months, I was suffering from headaches and eventually, I noticed that my jaw was tense and achy. I stopped drinking coffee, thinking that the caffeine was dehydrating and adding to the tension but symptoms didn't change. Eventually, after about a month, my jaw started clicking and popping and the headaches were getting perpetually worse. I had a massage therapist help it a bit but symptoms continued. Finally, my jaw hurt … Read how I did it…

Peel and mince the garlic (or put through a garlic press). Combine the onion and garlic with the wine in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and cool slig… Read how I did it…

Since I rarely make time to read a book, I’ve started listening to audio books while working (since I can design and listen to it at the same time). I’ve listened to one full book, Julie & Julia, and loved the accomplishment of finishing it. Granted, I would love to be able to flip the pages of a real book but this will work for now…
when i chose to stop drinking coffee it was mainly because I was suffering from daily headaches. Even after not drinking coffee for a week, the headaches continued and eventually, because my jaw started hurting, found out i had TMJ which was a result of grinding my teeth at night and some stress during the day. My husband has an acupuncture degree and treated me twice with acupuncture and my headaches and TMJ have gone away completely!
