getting faster
I’ve been building a good base mileage. I’m working up to 40 miles a week. Just ran a trial 5k to get an idea of where I’m at 2 weeks ago—ran a 21:26 and felt like I had some left over.

How I did it: I have run about 25 half-marathons. Typically I will run 20-35 miles a week. Most importantly, I did one long run a week -- starting at 5 or 6 milers and incrementing by 1 mile a week so that the longest run was an 11 or 12 miler. This gave me enough endurance to finish the race. Read how I did it…
