I managed to quit over the summer, but I started up again in the winter. So my new goal is to stop the smoking before June.
Let’s see if I can quit for good this time. It’s pretty difficult considering my closest friends are all smokers.
I only smoke maybe one or two a day, so hopefully it won’t be too difficult to quit the habit. I know I’ll be able to stop once the weather gets warmer. I always find smoking in the heat to be gross. But in the cold, I actually like it. Which is my main problem.

How I did it: Getting over my depression certainly helped with it. I realized that nobody is watching my every move and judging me because of it. If I act like an idiot in public and random strangers give me dirty looks, I really don't care because I'm having fun and they're not. I'm also not going to see them ever again, so does it really matter what they think of some random person who they're going to forget about in a week or so? If I was… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I'm really not sure what helped me become truly happy. I guess, instead of focusing on bad things, I began to think about all the great things in my life. I first felt truly happy back in June. It was actually June 2nd, to be exact. I had just had an amazing day and on my way home, I just began thinking of all the great things that day. And when I did, the feeling of happiness just felt so good that I started smiling like a major doof on … Read how I did it…
How I did it: I basically just realized that our minds have a way of making things seem worse than they are. I would sit around dwelling on this jerk and thinking of how stupid I was all day. But one day, I got up and realized that by beating myself up, I was letting him win. I started occupying myself doing other things, and hardly thinking about him at all. And then one day, I forgot about him completely. Read how I did it…

Basically I stopped the “hard way.” I was never full on addicted, due to the fact that I was always bumming off people or stealing from my brother since I never had any money, but I went for so long without a cigarette that now, when I smoke, I feel sick afterwards. I think this is good, since I have heart problems and it’s not the best thing for me to be smoking. Let’s see if this lasts.
I almost got honors this quarter. I would have gotten honors if it wasn’t for my economics class which I didn’t do too hot in. But at least it’s a start and perhaps a foreshadowing of what’s to come. :3
