CASA Volunteer 2 months ago

While I don’t have the time or the energy or the HEART to devote time to helping children in need on a one-to-one basis, I do have time to do SOMETHING. Effectively immediately I will be writing the quarterly newsletter for our local CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). There is a great need at this time for more info, more funds and a general increase in awareness about the needs of children who come through the legal system.

I’m excited about the prospects of using my writing skills for this worthy cause.

Gotta run . . . so much to do, so little time ;)

North Oconee River 2 months ago

Gotta love a hike down by the river w/your young son. Got a new pair of Timberlands in prep for my NEXT big hike and must break them in. Hike #1 in my LOVELY new boots . . . along the banks of the North Oconee River. So far I’ve done about 6 miles in them; so far so good. Stay tuned for news about next weekend’s trek. I can hardly WAIT!!!

5K portion 3 months ago

Thanks to an odd hip problem, I’m behind on my 5K goal. I’m still running (finally, after being benched by the doc for a month) but only 2 to 3 times per week. I’m working my way back to another 5K, slowly but surely. Growing old sux :)
