One good thing (even tho the books are no longer pristine) is that when I try a recipe I note on that page the month/year I tried it. I also note whether it was good or not and if I made changes to it. Funny thing is, I run across recipes I marked as great … and I never remember trying them in the first place.
Another thing … when I first get the cookbook I glance at all the recipes and then mark the ones I think would be good to try. Inside the front cover I write a small description (beef … page 33) thus saving time when I really need to find a recipe fast.

I have a program (pc-based) called Micro Cook Book. Not only does it have many recipe books on the program, it also allows you to sort by ingredient, and it allows you to change the number of servings (while updating the recipe for you). But the reason I like it best … I was able to input all of my favorite tried and true recipes and then print them out and keep them in a binder.
It’s nice to return to places that you’ve enjoyed on past vacations. However, I’d really like to go to places that we’ve never been to before.
I think that this will keep us young in mind and attitude; we’ll experience new places, new things, and meet new people! I think the planning and researching and experience of visiting those places keep you fresh, young, and active.
