I volunteer my services pro bono to the County via the Coroner’s office in identifying osteological cases, both human and non-human. I am in the early stages of authoring a textbook on human osteology/forensic anthropology.
I have been fortunate enough to offer classes at the local community college as a part-time adjunct. Over the last five years, I’ve found that I’m talented in the art of teaching and that it is an enjoyable and rewarding occupation.
I have my MA and have applied for Full Time positions and have been short-listed/invited for interviews, so I know I can compete against PhDs. Since there is a glut of Anthro PhDs on the market, so to speak, I figure I’ll need an edge against them. Thus, I’m currently authoring a textbook for use in introductory classes.
After spending more time than I care to admit working in the customer service industry, I’ve decided to follow my dreams to their utmost conclusion—thus, I’ve decided to go back for the PhD and follow my goal of being a Professor of Anthropology.
