I was a photoshop whore for too long. I’ve been trying to use more open source stuff. Besides it’s free.

I just think it would be cool. I’ve tried a couple of times. But, I’ve got a really short attention span and I my art skills suck.

About two years ago, I had an entire 40 page comic book script written out. I got about 10 pages in and got extremely frustrated. But, I learn a heck of alot. Gained a bunch of Gimp and photoshop skills.

Then, about a week ago, I stumbled upon the comic strip “toothpaste for dinner”. It’s hillarious. And the greatest thing about it is, it’s really simple. I mean, it’s not perfectly drawn or even neatly drawn. But the content makes it funny.

I was going to start a comic strip about wasps. It was going to be nothing but the insect wasps doing “white anglo saxon protestant” stuff like curling and saying things like, “Right back at ya Bob!”

But, again my drawing skills are horible. So instead I started drawing ants. The first strip I drew was a female ant asking a male ant, “Does my gaster look big to you?”

I haven’t decided what I’m going to call the strip. Maybe “The Colony” or “Throax”.

I’ve always had stuff on my mind. Blogging for the last couple of months has given me a chance to get my opinions out there.

It’s also given me an opportunity to show others the stuff that I think is cool. All to often, the coolest news never makes it on CNN, MSNBC, FOX or even Digg. At least I don’t thing it does.
