How I did it: I watched my caloric intake, and later on I started exercising. I lost it slowly, since for a few months there I kind of ditched it. But, after I was down to 250 or so (from 260 when i started), I felt like making a permanent change in what I wanted to be, physically. I am 230 now. How I did it: I've been running for a few months now, and at first it was about trying to peel off weight so i could run better, and lose weight in general. And as I lost weight, my stride changed. But I was always running (relatively) short distances, because as I got stronger, my stride got more aggressive.
