Here’s my story- once upon a time, I weighed about 125 pounds. My weight roller-coastered up and down for a few years, ranging anywhere between 139 pounds and 122 pounds. Last year, after being on a very strict eating diet, my weight hit an all time low at about 121 pounds. However, I got sick of eating healthy, started overeating a lot, and gained a ton of weight within a few months.

When I say diet, I mean a healthy way of eating. Unless specified, I’m not talking about an official “diet.”

Gaining weight was very depressing- I felt horrible, didn’t look good in my old clothes, and was constantly comparing myself to others. Getting skinny became all I could think about. I’ve started trying to lose weight so many times, but I never follow through. Every time I slip up and eat something I shouldn’t have, I tell myself, ‘whatever, I’ll just start again next week,’ and proceed to binge on unhealthy food. Yeah- not the brightest idea.

This time though, I am serious. I am tired of constantly feeling self-conscious. I am tired of not being able to wear my old clothes. I am tired of being the largest one of all of my roommates. I am tired of cringing every time I see a picture of myself. It is time to lose this weight and get my life back.

So here’s the plan- Firstly, I’m going to try to be vegan. It sounds a little extreme, but after reading “Skinny B*%$@” by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin, I’m convinced that a vegan diet is a super-healthy way to lose weight. Secondly, I’m going to try the Flat Belly Diet from Prevention. We’ll see if it works… Lastly, I’m going to try to exercise. I’m pretty busy, so I’m not sure how often I’ll be able to, but I’m going to try. And if I screw up, I am NOT GOING TO BINGE AND START OVER! Anyway, that’s the plan. My goal weight is between 120 and 125 pounds. Ready, set, go!
