How I did it: I began by checking out the couch to 5k program a few times. I made myself a promise that if I were to purchase an ipod nano, I would get the Nike+ running sensor and use it to get in better shape. Well, I held myself to that promise. How I did it: I followed the couch to 5k running program. By the end of the 5th week I was able to run for 20 minutes straight - that's roughly 2 miles! Basically it starts you running and walking in intervals. This allows you to quickly go from nothing, up to running for a half hour straight (approximately 5k). How I did it: While walking through the mall with my parents at age 11 we found a display for a local scuba store. I begged and pleaded, and finally my parents gave in to pay for the classes. I had the choice of NAUI and PADI, and I ended up choosing NAUI. It was a 12 week class, and I took my certification dives on the day I turned 12 - the first day I was legally allowed.
