I thought there used to be an option for “I don’t want to do this any more…” now it’s only “I did it!” or “I give up”... Victory or Defeat. Hey it’s not all about either meeting your goals or giving up on your goals, sometimes it’s about your goals changing. Or some times some of your 43things are simply cool dreams, but after a while the interest wears off. Sure help people meet the goals they really decide to concentrate on, but if it’s “43 things” (which is a lot of things), there are going to be some that are just neat ideas, that you toy with and then discard, so shouldn’t be about winning or losing, victory or defeat. It should be about dreaming big, and then choosing, and making progress on what you decide upon.

I haven’t been on 43things for ages, and actually it was remembering this goal that brought me here today. And I found that I marked it “done” with the comment “well sort of did it…” And just wanted to say I’m still trying to sort it out.
I have some people around me who are also seeking the answer to this, but I do know it’s not about “finding a church”... it really is about finding a circle of friends who are true seekers, and who don’t need all the outward trappings of religion to validate them as Christians. In fact, sometimes I wonder if the outward trappings do the opposite. But it’s not just about throwing off trappings, but about putting something on as well.
I just have found some folks who are like a breath of fresh air. Don’t feel the need to have it on my list of 43 things any more, so marking it done… though in a sense it’s only just beginning.
