I just got all four of my impacted wisdom teeth taken out yesterday morning. They gave me some nitrous oxide (laughing gas,) put in an IV, and I was out soon after. When I was finished, the first few hours it was a little difficult to swallow, and hence hard to get anything what so ever down so that I could take my painkillers. I will admit that it was uncomfortable the first day, but nothing as bad as I had imagined. The swelling has gone down with ice packs pretty quickly, and I’ve just been sleeping most of the time because of the Vicodin I was given makes me tired. Today I’m doing a lot better with pain. My jaw is a little tight, but at least I can swallow and it doesn’t ache horribly.
All in all, I’d say it was worth it. I was starting to get headaches from the teeth.
