I had 6 hours of driving lessons in the past 2 days! All this after 9 hours at work and 2 hours commute! Oh, and without any breaks. I am a machine! And I rock the parallel parking. It’s my fave.

So I’ve completed my 25 hours in the classroom and 10 hours on the road. I’m getting 6 hours of private lessons so that I can practice more and gain confidence in what I should already know. It’s because I don’t have access to a car right now and my instructor has been very kind to attach 30 minutes of free lessons here and there so that I can drive more.

Road test scheduled for August 7th, 2009!

Currently enrolled in driving school this summer, now that I have a bit of time and money. Going to the classroom every Saturday for the next 5 weeks, followed by in-car training. Pumped to finally break free from the dependence of public transit!

After diving headfirst into data analysis, strategic planning, competitive mapping, etc. for only 1.5 weeks, my boss has just been blown away. She said she would hire me in a heartbeat (I’m currently a full-time summer associate). She has held various VP positions at large corporations (think Disney, Nelvana, etc.) and having managed many interns in her career, she said hands down I am the best. The total package. That my diverse skillset, my level of maturity, my professional language and attitude seem to have come from at least 5-6 years of full-time work experience (I have 1 more year to go in my undergraduate degree). And that even then, people with that much experience probably couldn’t produce the work that I did. Wow, that meant so much coming from her especially! Excuse my feel good moment! :)
