it was the winter of 95-96… i was in my freshman year of college at Michigan Tech, and the city of Houghton had gotten the most snow it had ever gotten in the past 80 years. there was so much snow that that MTU had cancelled classes on two separate days. the last time they had to cancel classes due to weather was more than 100 years prior.
there were 385 inches of snow. you could fall off the roof of your house and land in a 8 foot tall drift of of snow. it seemed like it was snowing every morning and every evening. wonderful.
