I’m trying to break the lapse with a book I saw on The Daily Show, “The God Delusion.” I haven’t turned a page yet, but hopefully this will be better than the last one, which derailed my plan. Then maybe I can fit one or two more in before the end of the year.

I think I have a new job offer coming within a week. I am so entirely ready for the change, but I don’t want to jinx myself by assuming I have it locked up.
This is a scholarly, pictureless, footnoted tome (by James Loewen, Ph.D.), equally disheartening and eye-opening. It focuses on errors the author finds in what we are taught about American history in U.S. schools.
I just started reading it last weekend, but I want to finish in the next couple of weeks so I can pass it along to my Dad, a retired history teacher, when I see him at the end of July.
