I had my second driving lesson this sunday past. It was scary, and I got a little frustrated twice – first when I kept stalling the car, because I was nervous about the other cars parked on the pavement right next to us and second when two pedestrians insisted in walking in the street and not getting out of the way despite my loud protestations.
Once I got going, it came back quickly, and I felt a little less scared behind the wheel.

How I did it: Studied, studied and studied some more. Reading the study guides are great, but make sure you also read the white papers and the operations guide. You need to understand the concepts, and why SCOM is different from other monitoring systems.Watched CBT Nuggets and wrote Practise exams.Worked with the application. It helps that it is part of my day job, so I get a lot of exposure to the product. I also have a functioning lab at home, so I c… Read how I did it…
How I did it: This year was a lot easier than the year before, because the universe was already alive in my head. I used NaNoWriMo this year to write what essentially became the ending to my first novel, also known as the second half.Getting into the habit of writing every day is hard, and it is easy to find excuses not to do it. But, the whole point of NaNoWriMo is to get you into the habit of writing every day, so when you do make excuses, you are on… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I had to change my way of thinking about writing considerably. Initially, despite blogging for years, I was convinced that only non-online writing is writing.Forcing myself to blog every day has helped a great deal in honing my writing ability, especially because I forced myself to write 'proper' blog entries. Also, starting a blog dedicated to writing has helped a great deal. Read how I did it…

My next exam is scheduled for the 27th of May, 2009. I am writing 70-400 – Configuring System Center Operations Manager.
I was hoping to complete the MCSE track early this year, but due to some personal issues, including a house burglary, most of my plans have been postponed. I am also considering not completing the MCSE track, but rather moving onto the MCTS track. Luckily, because I have already achieved the MCSA qualification, I have fewer exams to write. 70-400 counts towards either the MCSE or the MCTS.
I signed up at QueryTracker quite some time ago (over a year ago, I think), but finally, this week, logged on and started compiling my list. Because, of course, I haven’t sent out my letters yet. I now have a list of 24 agents to query. I am sure this list will grow. I prefer QueryTracker over any of the other apps/methods I have tried, because it is online and always available.
