After applying for a student trainee position with the cdc, accepting the job, going through security procedures and training, I am now a student library technician with the cdc. This is a job that I would have hoped to have AFTER getting my master’s degree. Things are really getting better day by day. I have not had any worries or problems in a long, long time. I love this life. :)

How I did it: i could go on about this for hours, but in a nutshell, i joined a gym and strictly watched what i ate. i fell off the wagon a couple times like almost everyone does... but i realized i could start over again the next day. Read how I did it…
How I did it: i lost about 50 pounds first. then i started jogging around my neighborhood in the mornings. after i lost another 10 pounds, i started jogging on the treadmill at the gym. i waited until i lost a lot of weight so that it wouldn't as hard for me and so i wouldn't be as embarrassed jogging at the gym in front of the other people. i focused mostly on endurance, not speed. every time i went to the gym (5 days a week), i would jog for a period… Read how I did it…
How I did it: i read a few financial blogs in the past that talked about cd laddering with your emergency fund. i sadly, do not have an emergency fund anymore, but i wanted to start a cd ladder regardless to get it started so that when they mature, maybe i will have more money by then to add to new ones. anyways, it is pretty simple to set up a cd ladder with ing. they basically do all the work for you. If I were to ever consider joining a roller derby, it would be in the distant future at this point. I believe the teams here require you to own all of your equipment and have health insurance prior to joining. I just went roller skating for the first time in 15 years also, by the way. I need practice. :) But I think it would still be a good goal to have for the future.
After running my first marathon in June, my boyfriend told me that he is really inspired by me. He has actually told me that a lot, but I felt like he meant it more after seeing me complete the marathon. So, now we are training together for a half-marathon in October. When we are done running each day, he tells me how great he feels and it makes me proud. :)
