Pretty much all my friends know now and coworkes – thanks to MySpace and the election in November. Here, in Wisconsin there was a vote to put an amendment into our state constitution stating that only ‘1 man and 1 woman’ can get married. I felt the need to come out during this time because I didn’t feel I could fully work on overturning this ban if I wasn’t being honest with others as to why I felt this amendant shouldn’t be written into our state consititution. Unfortunatley, we didn’t win, this time – there is always the vote in 2 years.
I still haven’t told my family – well, I told my little brother over Christmas but not my parents or other relatives. I think they know – most have asked but that was 3 years ago when I was in denial. If they would ask now though, I would be honest about it. I’m sick of lying … it’s (mentally) healthier and i’m happier this way :)
