I took two prep courses- Kaplan first, then Barbri. I studied my butt off for eight months straight and I PASSED! Now I have to take an oath and get registered in, but that will be the first thing I do on Tuesday morning. Whew! So happy to have this goal completed!

How I did it: Not certain anyone masters this forever. I have been doing well - for instance took a bar prep class this summer and was not late at all. Been on time to work. Been getting things done on time. Been staying organized in my life and work. It is needed. Sure, now and then I oversleep, but it is no longer chronic. I don't love getting up early and I really don't ever want to get another job where I have to be there at the ass crack of dawn, … Read how I did it…
How I did it: I met with the lovely ladies of the D.A,R,- Their resources are amazing and boundless. I was impressed with their ability to know off hand what books I needed to research when mentioning some random county in a state hundreds of miles away. This is their life's work and they help members, nonmembers, etc. My goal was to be able to prove my lines to gain the ability to get membership and I did it. Use the internet to find a chapter nearby … Read how I did it…
How I did it: So fast to learn. Went to Hobby Lobby and bought some hemp cord and a few beads. Headed home and went on Youtube. Within just minutes I had learned the basic knotting.I learned also how to double the knot or reverse it to produce flat macrame.Much easier than knitting or crocheting.Fast way to feel an accomplishment! Working in a law office where everyone except me is fully fluent in Spanish. It seems odd that if the words are written, I understand them better. When people speak, I don’t comprehend as well. I suppose it is because I have learned by reading and studying on my own.
Still not fluent by a long shot! But, I do know the jist of most things and need less help every day. Always afraid I will mis-comprehend something and screw up the client’s case- this is immigration law and an error could mean someone gets sent “home” where they don’t need to be!!!
Going to keep at this one unless I have to start studying for the bar again.
Who knows? I am now waiting and waiting for the results to be posted. Terrified! I did my best but will understand if I did not pass it. It was really hard. I dread having to start over on studying to take it again!!! I will let you all know what happens next month!
