become a CASA Volunteer
My Casa folks here are nuts. 6 months ago

Mid way through the course, I brought up a discrepancy in the teaching methods and what was being said about Native American Children and their custody matters (btw- I am N.A.). The next two days I took off work and sat through hours and hours of court hearings for “observation” requirements, nothing negative being said. Lo and behold, I am contacted and told I am not the right fit for Casa. Huh?

Idiots.

Their “contract” with me said they would tell me if there was a reason I was not being used as a volunteer (a clause included for those who end up disclosing information or acting against the rules, etc.) but they refused to comment further.

Wow.

Won’t be persuing this one in Georgia again. Will wait until I get to Arkansas and join there.

Get knee surgery
May be backing out of this one 10 months ago

I just cannot bring myself to do this. So many people end up worse off. I really don’t want a cadaver chunk in my leg…. Maybe I should just go see an orthopaedic doctor and get another opinion. Okay, that is what I will do. Before May 2009 I will find an orthopod and go see him or her and get another MRI to get another opinion.

SOLVED!

Change the swimming pool liner
It is not really about the pool liner, is it? 10 months ago

No, it is not. It is about finding a way to accomplish what must be done without relying on others to help or do it for me. Because I did not pay attention to how someone else was handling my pool maintenance on the above ground pool, the black cover ended up touching the liner all winter last year. This summer, the cover was pulled and had melted to the liner making enormous holes.

I knew that the cover needed to be pulled taut and I asked the men in the house to do it, but they did not. I should have hired it done (it is too big for one person to do alone) but as a matter of principle, I kept harping.

Fixing the pool liner would be my pennance for thinking my harping could every motivate another person.
