It was a very eye-opening experience. Go there, take it all in, AND MIX AND LEARN FROM THE LOCALS but be prepared to be “changed” by what you see – the people’s lifestyle, their political freedom (or lack thereof!), and their outlook on life.

For a diverse view of the country, I recommend going for at least 2 weeks, and visiting at least La Havana and Santiago de Cuba (two very different and distant cities).

Oh yeah, and learn to salsa before you go! Don’t listen to “Guantanamera” too much before going, because you’ll be sick of it by the end of the trip anyway.. :)
