i have a total of $300 in my savings account since paying off my mortgage last month… in this economy, probably shouldn’t have exposed myself this much – but I’d been planning on doing this for so long, that i had to… i’m going to be really agressive – not give myself any frills until i have one year’s worth of salary in my savings for an emergency.

How I did it: track every penny... use excel... if you need a loan from your savings, pay yourself back with interested. Sorry everyone, but every penny from tax refunds, bonus', etc., goes into doing this. It can be very hard. I would take a little (under $500) from an annual bonus to buy myself one thing (last year it was an ipod touch) this year it was zero.Live on 50% of your take home pay. I know it sounds impossible, but I've done it for years. Read how I did it…
Things seem to be going better. I am enjoying the city much more then when I first moved here. Would love to meet someone relationship oriented though… They all want the same thing… To do the deed on the first night… I’m no two dollar ho!
