How I did it
It made me
bad ass, 
How I did it: I bought a manual car. Had no choice but to learn to drive it as I drove it home from the dealership. Of course a cop stopped me on the way home for holding up traffic. I think he was sorta amused that I purchased a car I had no idea how to drive, so he didn't bother me when I cut him off to get on the highway because if I stopped, then I would never have gotten the car started again.
