Quitting was the most difficult thing I’ve ever done. I was a hard-core smoker for about 25 years. Nobody loved to smoke more than I did, NOBODY! I smoked at least a pack every day and sometimes two or three. My life revolved around smoking. I quit three years ago and I haven’t looked back. The first 6 months were brutal. I relied on nicotine gum to help me get through the cravings. I put on tons of weight. It was the biggest challenge I’ve ever had to overcome, but it was so very much worth the effort. I went through physical withdrawal that was extremely painful by times, but I would do it again in a heartbeat to get to where I am today. I feel GREAT! I’m still carrying some extra pounds, but I’ve got the energy and the breath to work it out. I’ve never felt better, smelled better, been more emotionally in control of my own destiny. Believe me, if I can quit anyone can. And you should.
