How I did it: In January 09 I got a email newsletter from my AAA agent. It was featuring Alaskan cruises and spoke of discounts (since the economy was so poor). I called my sister for moral support, and she told me to check it out. I called an AAA agent, who turned out to be incredible. How I did it: This goal followed on the tail of my goal of paying off the house. After the house was paid off, I collected the funds that would have gone toward that payment for the next two months. I used that to pay for the TV. This way it didn't feel like I was spending an additional chunk of money, b/c in the past the money would have gone to house payment. In September I made a down-payment on converting my porch into a sunroom. Expected installation date: Feb 2010.
but being too reliant upon lists can cause a person to focus only on accommplishing the list of to-do’s and allow life to pass them by in the process. I know I need lists in my life to keep me organized, but I feel like currently those lists become my day’s agenda. I can’t remember the last time I woke up in the morning and decided to go to the mall – just for windowshopping.
