I am struggling so bad!

I started a rice diet I seen in a Woman’s Day mag. It definitely works, but can’t seem to stay on track, though I am diabetic with sugars wayyyyy outta control. I weigh 280 (down from 290) but my weight is fluctuating 5 pounds either way. My youngest son is on the diet as well. He’s 11 and weighs 150 (down from 161). He has so much more willpower than I do! Wish me luck!!
