It’s about 13 miles by car to work, but that goes over a bridge without bicycle access. So I took the other bridge that does have bike access to work which was 20 miles. My achilles was sore so I decided to take the long but flat way home, 27 miles around the north end of lake washington. Need to get my achilles in shape before doing it again…

Did it in one day with a little bit of pain in my achilles and got the t-shirt. Definitely worth doing, but make sure to stretch good before a long ride like this.
I got all the parts including the frame off of eBay. It was cheaper than buying a new one with the same components. Plus I got the exact components I wanted. The only extra thing I needed was a crank tool which I got off of eBay as well for cheap. Now I know everything about this bike and what it might need for future maintenance. If you’re going to put in the miles when it’s done, I highly recommend building one yourself.
