..so I got laid off last month, and I laid up for a couple of weeks wondering about next steps. After being an educator for 13 years, if you cant teach or hand our detentions, what else is there for you? Reflection helped me to remember that education was chosen for me…writing wasnt ‘safe’ and you couldnt make any money. Or so they told me when i left high school in 88-but i wanted to write. So, now im embarking on a journey that will get me there eventually…im at least obligated to try.
