And I’m within 5 classes of transferring. Another semester is at an end and I’m exhausted! I knew the Culinary Arts degree was going to be a lot of work, but the sheer reality of it all doesn’t click until you’re neck deep into the task.

Although I have only 5 classes, it will still take me another year until I’m at SJSU. The last two Culinary classes are my advanced classes that carry a lot of weight—Catering Lab at 5 units and advanced Culinary at 9 units. And they have to be broken up into different semesters.

There is no way I can take them together without completely losing my mind. Not to mention trying to work.

One more year and I’m off to finish the BS.

But unitl then, I have the summer off and I plan to enjoy it to the fullest!

Actually, I started this a couple of months ago obviously, but haven’t had time to post. LOL!

This semester is pretty hectic and I have had to drop one class. I was taking 6 classes for a total of 16.5 units. But the photography had to go. As much as I wanted to learn, I simply did not have the time with my other courses.

For some reason this semester, the 16 units felt like more. Maybe it’s because they are all theory classes instead of hands on in the kitchen. Eight of my units last semster were practical training. Lots a of hours, but you were running around so much, you didn’t notice how much work it really was. And I thrived working at the on campus restaurant.

Or it could also be that I’m working full-time now as well as school. Last semester I didn’t work until the last three weeks of school. So this semster has been a fine balancing act of working, keeping up with school work and spending time with my special someone. And manage to still have time to sleep and down time for me. It’s been rough to say the least.

What’s worse? Someone came into work sick this past week and I think in my state of low immunity, I have gotten said cold. Just what I need as I get into the bulk of school.

But I keep plugging along and have recently signed a transfer agreement with SJSU for next year.

One step closer to my goal…

So it’s official!! As of 10:30 a.m. today, my first semester of school is over!!! Last final is completed and all papers done and turned in!! And since I did my final for the evening class last week, I have the rest of the day completely free!!

It feels rather strange to be sitting at home right now instead of racing around a kitchen in my chef whites as I usually would be on Thursdays at this time. I feel like I should be doing something. LOL!

Anyways, two weeks of rest and relaxation and then I’ll be back in classes. What will I do with all this time????

I know….SLEEP!!!
