I want to get as much sleep as I need—wake up fully rested everyday. I used to do this when I didn’t have mandatory work hours. It was great. But now, basically, I’d have to go to sleep early and there’s so much I want to do.

A friend of mine wanted us (our friends) to do this very thing. She wanted to save at least one person the pain that she went through. Early detection is so important.
I think peppermintcream has a good idea there. Let’s invite more people.
Instead of going home, changing, then driving back out to the gym.
having a presentable living space! I hosted a board game night with some friends. So much fun!
Strengthen your abdominals/obliques! I feel a lot more solid now. I like Hip Twists and Bicycles.
I’m reading a book called “The Timeless Way of Building”. One of its teachings is not to build contradictions into your life. A messy home is a contradiction. That’s where you go to relax!
But cleanliness is not enough. You must understand what happens in a place and then arrange the furniture and the placement of things to be in harmony with those events.
The magical thing about this process is that once you begin, your understanding of a place will improve and you’ll be better able to arrange that place. On improving that place, you’ll find that you have improved your quality of life and really, that you have improved yourself.
For me, this is really a new, fun, and satisfying way to think about organizing/cleaning/arranging. I’ve just started but I already feel more alive in my place.
Went for surfing lessons this weekend. I was able to ride by my 4th wave. I’m so proud!
What revsuz said about upper body strength is right on. You have to propel yourself forward with your arms to catch the wave. Otherwise it just passes you by. And then you have to paddle back out. So much paddling! Do some swimming or pull-downs to get in shape.

Also, I say go for the 8am classes—much less people.
Now to find bigger waves…
Weird? Here’s how it happened for me…
First phase: You’ll actively pick what you want to watch instead of channel surfing. You’ll like doing that because you no longer have to schedule your life around tv times. Also, you’ll get to ff through commercials—saved time. Because of these things, you’ll start doing other things with your time.
Second phase: You’ll end up picking so many shows to record you won’t be able to watch it all. As your backlog builds up, you’ll become more picky about what you watch.
Third phase: You’ll realize don’t really need to watch what you’ve selected to record.
Your mileage may vary. But that’s how it happened for me! Then again, maybe the TV programming just became sucky. Or maybe it was always kinda sucky and I just realized it.
Nicked two of my seats and a pair of wheels! I’ll use my own bike as bait. Vengence will be mine!
I think all the starter articles that say write a mod are on the right track. Instead of a mod, I wrote a little tron light cycles game. Gave me a taste of sprite animation in DirectX, vertex buffers, collision detection, and input handling.
So hot and dry out there. But the cooling winds and panoramic view from the top makes it worthwhile. I saw a coyote! Lots of rocks to climb. What I did was rated 5.5—250+ft in 3 legs. I think there was one rated 5.1(?). Totally exhilarating!
