I had my second non-profit org. board meeting tonight. This was the first time that I was presenting an issue I had researched and taken action on to the wide variety of partners that compose the board. I spent the afternoon practicing what I was going to say in the 3 to 5 min presentation and I am proud to report that it went off w/o single “ummm” or “hmmm.” I am making another presentation in January – bring it on.

How I did it: I googled it and found out where the recycling centers were around me. I also bought 2 big bags to collect paper and plastic (aluminum and glass too) in so that I don't through that kind of stuff away. And then while walking my dog I noticed my own building recycles plastic and aluminum. I had know we could recycle paper here, but there was never any mention of the aluminum and plastic recycling in house. I has been really easy and I feel… Read how I did it…
How I did it: My husband really helped with this goal when he decided to start eating Paleo. The Paleo diet consists of fruit, veggies (except for potatos), nuts and lean protein. As a result I started cooking Paleo dinners, which was the easiest part b/c I just substituted any starch for extra servings of salad or veggies. After doing this for a little while I read The Paleo Diet and decided to start eating lunch and breakfast Paleo… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I filled out a profile on the volunteermatch.org website and the website gave me options from there... I am now volunteering at a women's shelter regularly... Read how I did it…

Okay so this goal was originally to get my weight down to 135 BUT after doing Crossfit for the last few months, I have become well acquainted with the Bali fat tank. After my most recent experience in the tank, I learned that my lean body mass is 127 right now – that is muscle, bones and organs. I am at 24% body fat right now, which is fair but needs to come down to 20% or lower to be at optimum health. In order to do this I would have to lose about 10 lbs of fat – leaving my weight well above 135. So I have changed my goal to more appropriately reflect what is healthy for my body frame and keeps me strong. I need to stop letting the scale freak me out. I know what I look like and where I want to go… the scale is almost irrelevant in that determination.
I am failing at this. I am exhausted and can’t point to what I am even accomplishing for all of this running around. I just want to crawl into bed a sleep for a month. Maybe if I did that I would be able to beat this cold once and for all.
