How I did it: A friend issued a 'Pic a Day' challenge and I thought I'd go for it. I realised early on that pressures of time would mean that my photos for some days would be quick snaps of rather boring things. Acquiring a camera phone part way through the year certainly helped, meaning I didn't have to have my larger camera with me. Did this... but... 3 months ago

I spent nearly £3000 getting the guttering fixed…. only to still have leaks.

I tried to find reputable people to do the work, but it seems that even they were shoddy corner-cutters. Not happy – and they’re avoiding returning to sort out their poor workmanship.

adopt a Greyhound
First Rebel - and then Dippy! 3 months ago

In August 2008 we decided to find a companion for our elderly Leonberger, Phoebe – and a retired greyhound seemed to fit the bill perfectly.

We spoke to plenty of people about them and went along to the kennels of a local greyhound rehoming group. Phoebe got on very well with a handsome fawn boy (Rebel) and once we’d passed the home check he came to live with us. Rebel was all we’d hoped for – and more :-)

Sadly, Phoebe died in May 2009. Rebel missed her terribly and completely lost all enthusiasm for life, so we decided to return to the rehoming group to find him a new friend. He fell for Dippy, a sweet little black and white girl. She came home with us and the pair of them are very happy together.

Greyhounds make such wonderful family pets that it’s going to be hard to resist adding more to our home!

Take my children to see the seals at Donna Nook (read all 3 entries…)
Went again with my daughter this December 11 months ago

I took my daughter along to see the pups again – but we didn’t manage to stay long because the weather was Arctic!

Managed to take a few photos before it started to heave down with snow and we had to retreat to the car to thaw out.
