How I did it: A friend issued a 'Pic a Day' challenge and I thought I'd go for it. I realised early on that pressures of time would mean that my photos for some days would be quick snaps of rather boring things. Acquiring a camera phone part way through the year certainly helped, meaning I didn't have to have my larger camera with me. My daily photos can be seen here. The result is a collection of images that remind me of each day - and even the really … Read how I did it…
Hard to imagine a more wonderful occasion. My son described it as awesome – and it was.
Truly once-in-a-lifetime.
Earlier this year I decided that I was really fed up with my bedroom. It had a dreary green carpet and light green walls. Curtains were similarly greenish and uninspiring.
I love how I transformed it, with the help of my daughter. It’s now bright, airy and is a room I like to spend time in, even when not sleeping.
At the same time my son and I redecorated his bedroom. I also transformed the spare room from just a store room into a proper spare bedroom and study.
Now just need to work on parts of the rest of the house!
My son invited three of his friends round to help us remove some of the hugely overgrown shrubs and conifers. We slogged away for a couple of hours and some progress can be seen. It’ll probably take longer to clear up the cut down stuff than it actually took to do the cutting down.
Still plenty left to cut down.
