My tattoo is the name of one of the characters of Machado de Assis’ book Dom Casmurro. The character is Capitolina, who’s nickname is “Capitu”. She is the great love of the narrator. Is beautifullly described as owner of “undertow eyes, oblique, gypsy look”. The tattoo is on my left side, on my ribs. It is written “Capitu” with typewriter letters. It’s pretty cute and means a lot to me.

Weird thing is that I used to read Paulo Coelho when I was about eleven, twelve years old… and never read this specific book. Since the movie based on the novel has been released and I saw the treiler, I knew I had to see it. Hey, I’m a curious person! Why not read the book as well? That’s what I did. Everything in one day. Truth to be told? The movie is way better than the novel. I mean, it’s like his idea (wich was great, I’ll give him that) was changed in everything I would have changed in the book. You know when you read something and you just feel the general idea is good but could be so much better if written in another way, with some changes here and there? Here it is a classical example.
Veronika decides to die; Paulo Coelho.
“Strange as it may seem, i still hope for the best, even though the best, like an interesting piece of mail, so rarely arrives, and even when it does it can be lost so easily.”
