Two days ago I was eatting dinner with my family. We had salad. I always pour my sald dressing in a separate cup and dip my lettice in it. I don’t know why…just ‘cause. Anyway, my dad said to me (and has said to me in the past) “why don’t you try pouring the salad dressing on instead of dipping it?” I said, “Does it matter how I do it?” He said “I’ve never seen anybody else eat their salad that way.” So I said, “Then maybe I’m special.”
What I should have said: Just because I don’t do something the way “everybody” else does doesn’t make it wrong.
Why couldn’t I just say that instead of being a smart-ass?
